All of our staff established their careers in the rolling mill business and learnt their craft with respected and well known rolling mill suppliers Loewy Robertson, Davy and VAI. Our skill and knowledge comes with 30 years of dedicated work, producing the best the industry has to offer. Our know-how of the rolling process is acknowledged to be world class.
Experience and Security
As part of MINO Group, we continue to expand our process expertise through our research and development. MINO has a reputation for innovation, new techniques and creative design. Since 1840, MINO has been designing and building rolling mills for the world's metals producers. MINO Group provides a wide range of rolling mill designs and is at the forefront of rolling mill technology, building on the foundations Giovanni Mino laid down 175 years ago.
Neil Hickman : Managing Director
Neil is the M.D. of MINO Process Control. A qualified mechanical engineer he has been working in the rolling mill industry since 1980. Starting his engineering career in the nuclear industry a move was made to Davy McKee (formerly Loewy Robertson) in Poole, Dorset. Davy were an international engineering company with a world class pedigree in metal technology. A successful 16 years with Davy was followed by 12 years with VAI and Siemens VAI.
Dennis Meech : Engineering Director
Dennis is qualified as a Bachelor of Engineering specialising in control engineering and joined Davy McKee in 1989. He has headed up development teams responsible for the creation and launch of new control systems at VAI and Siemens VAI. He has 27 years of direct experience with the development and deployment of process control solutions for rolling mills.
David Farmer : Senior Process Engineer
Dave has been involved with rolling mill engineering and control since 1990. David has worked on all types of rolling mill and has extensive experience in process engineering and the theory of control. He is highly regarded by our clients and provides valuable support throughout our business.
Andrew Storey : Software Design Manager
Andy Storey graduated from Cambridge University with computer science and joined Davy in the 1980s. Andy has been involved in the concept and design of rolling mill control for over 30 years.
Tom Storey : Systems Engineer
A graduate from Kent University, Tom joined the team in 2022 on our graduate training scheme.

Our parent company, MINO S.p.A is a privately owned Italian company who designs and builds rolling mills. Since its foundation in 1840 MINO has built on its reputation as one of the oldest established and most well known providers of rolling mills. MINO rolling mills can be traced as far back as the silver trade in Italy during the late 19th century. Since those early years of the industrial revolution to the present MINO has been at the forefront of rolling mill technology - rolling and processing was, and remains, the beating heart of our business. Today as always MINO provides its clients with the very latest technology, engineering design and innovation for production of ferrous and non-ferrous metals.
